For those of you with school-aged children, it’s likely they are back inside the school gates now and ready for another full year of learning, activity and fun. Your pre-schoolers are ready to get back into their routine – be that with you at home, at day care or with another relative who shares the child minding responsibilities with you.
For many of us it’s now time to start finding something else to look forward to whilst juggling the time and energy stealing demands of work/life during term time: Easter school holidays.
Much like the lead into Christmas, the ramp up towards Easter and school holidays has already begun as we see Easter Eggs and Easter-themed decorations appearing on shop shelves. Easter is a great time to travel too – plenty of public holidays to enable time off work, the weather is milder than the height of summer and keeping the kids occupied for the two weeks seems more urgent after the lazy days of summer have been replaced with activity and routine.
Travel activities for kids can be tricky – airline regulations need to be factored in to avoid watching your child’s favourite travel activity (and hard-earned $$) be confiscated by airport security as your little loved one starts to whine and you desperately calculate if you have the time and stamina to navigate the crowds to buy something over-priced and under-producing in departures. Big bundles of toys packed tightly into cars for road trips take up valuable space and end up lost under seats or on the freeway whilst – as ever – the go-to of screen time needs to be monitored to avoid over-reliance.
What you need is something that can be packed quickly and easily, doesn’t take up too much room and still offers enjoyment, learning and fun. This is where Shapeeze comes in. The A4 activity pads are the perfect travel option – easy to carry and store and fully self-contained. As no sharp implements are included they are ideal options for aeroplane travel or for those children unused to manipulating scissors unsupervised.
Also remember, it’s not just your child who’s on holiday – you are too.
